About the Role

Our client is looking for an experienced Senior .NET Architect / Technical Lead to provide technical leadership across a portfolio of complex applications spanning multiple business domains.

The successful candidate will join an established team of highly experienced Full Stack .NET Developers, providing architectural guidance, resolving complex technical challenges, and driving the evolution of existing applications.

A key focus of this role will be application modernization, including migration to .NET 10, adoption of modern architectural patterns, and preparation for a future transition to Kubernetes (K8s) within the next two years.

This position combines hands-on architectural expertise, technical leadership, and close collaboration with development teams, other architects, and Product Owners.

Key Responsibilities

Architecture & Technical Leadership

• Define, maintain, and communicate the target architecture across multiple applications and business domains.
• Lead architectural discussions and guide experienced development teams in making sound technical decisions.
• Support the modernization of legacy applications and migration of services to .NET 10.
• Drive the adoption of Clean Architecture and modern microservices principles.
• Contribute to the architectural roadmap towards Kubernetes.
• Challenge and validate technical choices in collaboration with other Tech Leads and Developers.
• Investigate and resolve complex technical issues.
• Provide technical leadership and coaching to multiple Full Stack .NET development teams.
• Coordinate technical activities and priorities during Agile sprints.
• Work closely with Product Owners to challenge requirements and assess technical feasibility.
• Facilitate collaborative technical workshops with developers and architects.
• Promote best practices, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.
• Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

Application Modernization

• Support the maintenance and evolution of existing applications.
• Lead the transition from legacy .NET technologies towards .NET 10.
• Guide architectural improvements to ensure scalability, maintainability, and performance.
• Support the evolution from NServiceBus towards Dapr.
• Prepare applications and services for future Kubernetes deployment.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend appropriate architectural improvements.

Technical Environment

The ideal candidate should have strong experience with the following technologies:

• Databases: SQL Server / SQL, MongoDB

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of professional experience as a .NET Architect.
• Strong expertise in C# and the .NET ecosystem.
• Proven experience designing and maintaining complex application architectures.
• Experience providing technical leadership to experienced development teams.
• Solid understanding of microservices and modern software architecture principles.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
• Very good command of French or Dutch.
• Availability to work onsite in Brussels 2 days per week.
