EMW is seeking a highly skilled MySQL/PostgreSQL DBA for Brussels, Belgium. The role requires NATO SECRET clearance and hands-on experience with both MySQL and PostgreSQL. You will install, configure, monitor, and upgrade clustered and standalone databases, enforce security, and design HA/DR and backup strategies.

The position is on-site full-time, with coordination across devOps and infrastructure teams. You will manage capacity planning, performance tuning, and RCA for incidents, while

Qualifications

• Active NATO SECRET security clearance
• 5+ years hands-on experience with at least one of MySQL or PostgreSQL and 2+ years with the other
• Experience with backup and recovery tools and strategies
• Strong knowledge of replication, HA, and capacity planning
• Experience with security hardening and access control
• Automation scripting in Bash/ Python/ Perl

Responsabilités

• Install, configure, maintain and upgrade PostgreSQL and MySQL instances (standalone and cluster)
• Manage users, roles, privileges and authentication
• Perform routine maintenance and storage growth forecasting
• Troubleshoot production issues including data corruption and replication failures
• Coordinate with application and infrastructure teams
• Design and operate HA/DR solutions and disaster recovery runbooks
• Implement backup/recovery strategies and validate backups
• Audit logging and security hardening across environments
• Patch management and major/minor version upgrades
• End-of-life planning and platform recommendations
