EMW Belgium is seeking an experienced Database Administrator to manage on‑premises and cloud SQL Server environments, focusing on high availability, performance tuning, backups, and security. The role requires NATO SECRET clearance and hands‑on expertise with SQL Server, Azure SQL, and open‑source databases.

You will design data integration pipelines, automate routines with PowerShell or Python, implement IaC and CI/CD for database deployments, monitor capacity, and produce governance‑aligned

Qualifications

• Active NATO SECRET security clearance required.
• Expert-level knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server administration, development, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and optimization.
• Strong HA/DR design and implementation experience (Always On, Failover Clustering, Replication, backups).
• Experience managing databases across cloud platforms, preferably Azure (Azure SQL DB, Azure SQL MI, Azure VMs).
• Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL/MariaDB, MongoDB.
• Proficiency in PowerShell, T-SQL, and/or Python for automation.
• Strong relational database design, indexing, and query optimization knowledge.
• Experience with IaC, CI/CD pipelines, and database deployment automation.

Responsabilités

• Manage installation, configuration, upgrades, and backups of database systems on-premises and in the cloud.
• Design and maintain data collection, transformation, and integration across RDBMS platforms.
• Monitor performance, availability, and capacity; proactively resolve issues.
• Develop automation tools, scripts, and workflows for DB administration and reporting.
• Produce dynamic reports and templates for configuration management and lifecycle tracking.
• Support migrations and modernization involving Azure and other cloud databases.
• Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and cloud engineering teams for performance and reliability.
• Establish data governance and quality standards across processes.
• Stay current with database roadmaps and security practices.
