Spektrum seeks an experienced Operational Database Administrator to support the NATO Communications and Information Agency (NCIA) in Brussels, Belgium. You will install, configure, and optimize PostgreSQL and MySQL environments, manage backups, and ensure high availability across development, UAT and production.

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on experience with PostgreSQL or MySQL and 2+ years with the second database technology
• Strong Linux administration and scripting skills (Bash/Python/Perl)
• Experience with backup tools and disaster recovery planning

Responsabilités

• Install, configure, maintain and upgrade database instances (PostgreSQL 12+, MySQL 8.0+)
• Perform routine maintenance: schema housekeeping, index maintenance, statistics updates, data-retention support
• Manage users, roles, privileges and authentication methods according to least-privilege principles
• Monitor storage growth, capacity forecasting and performance metrics (locks, deadlocks, waits, replication lag, I/O)
• Implement and manage backup/recovery strategies (pg_basebackup, pg_dump, mysqldump, XtraBackup)
• Design and operate high availability and disaster recovery solutions
