brabers is seeking a Senior Mainframe Software Engineer to lead development across complex mainframe systems and own features end-to-end. You will troubleshoot production issues, participate in modernisation and automation initiatives, and contribute to scalable solution design in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires hands-on mastery of PL/1, SQL, DB2, JCL, CICS and related tools, with strong English communication and agile practices.

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering, system architecture and design experience.
• Hands-on experience with PL/1, SQL, DB2 Stored Procedures, PL/SQL, JCL and CICS, including CICS Web Services.
• Strong experience with Mainframe DB2, VSAM and relational databases.
• Experience with File Manager, SPUFI, QMF, Fault Analyzer, Git, CI/CD, APIs, MQ Series, Linux, SOAP UI and Z/OS Connect.
• Strong production troubleshooting, including logs, monitoring and enterprise application monitoring tools.
• Experience with advanced Git workflows, testing/quality standards, secure coding and dependency best practices.
• Experience with cloud migration, AI integration, automation, Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD.
• Ability to analyse business requirements and technical impact, design scalable solutions and take end-to-end ownership.
• Good knowledge of Agile methodologies and strong English.
