ITproposal is seeking a Senior Engineer with IBM Mainframe and Java expertise to lead complex design, development and architectural activities in Brussels.

The 6-month contract starts 31 October 2026 and requires 10+ years of experience. You will mentor junior IT staff and collaborate with enterprise architects to deliver robust solutions.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience as a developer and functional designer.
• Deep expertise in IBM Mainframe technologies.
• Experience with PLI, DB2, MQ, and CICS.

Responsabilités

• Design and develop complex software applications with autonomy.
• Translate business requirements and operational constraints into functional and data models.
• Ensure application designs meet business, operational, and non-functional requirements.
• Collaborate with Application and Enterprise Architects to validate proposed solutions.
• Define system scope, objectives, and detailed technical designs.
• Review program specifications, documentation, coding, testing, and debugging activities.
• Contribute to application design standards, reusable patterns, frameworks, and tools.
• Support application testing and production problem resolution when required.
• Coach and guide junior IT professionals.
• Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders throughout projects and maintenance activities.
• Maintain high-quality design documentation throughout the application lifecycle.
• Work with IT Infrastructure teams to provide clear technical and physical architecture information.
