Job summary

In4Matic is seeking an experienced System Engineer to manage a Linux-based infrastructure and Splunk platform in a large-scale environment. The role blends hands-on Linux operations with Splunk administration, emphasizing reliability, observability, automation, and continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate will operate across data onboarding, forwarder configurations, dashboards, alerts, and field extractions, while driving automation and root cause analysis.

Qualifications

• Four+ years in IT operations supporting Linux-based infrastructure in large-scale environments.
• At least 2 years hands-on experience administering Splunk in production.
• Experience onboarding data sources via Universal Forwarders and Heavy Forwarders.
• Proficient in SPL for searches, dashboards, alerts, and field extractions.

Responsibilities

• Resolve incidents and service requests for Linux and Splunk.
• Troubleshoot with Splunk and OS diagnostics to minimise disruption.
• Perform routine maintenance and implement changes per standards.
• Design and improve Splunk data onboarding, dashboards, alerts, and reports.
• Support root cause analysis using Splunk data and Linux behavior.
• Automate improvements via scripting and Infrastructure-as-Code.
• Collaborate with teams to ensure secure, compliant Linux systems.
• Explore new Splunk capabilities and integration approaches.
