Halian is seeking a Senior Java Analyst Developer to join its IT team in Belgium. You will develop, maintain, and improve business applications, perform functional analysis, and collaborate with IT and business stakeholders in an Agile setting.

The role requires strong Java expertise (Java 7/8/11/17), Spring/JEE, REST APIs, and experience with application servers, messaging, cloud platforms, and secure coding.

Qualifications

• Degree in Information Technology or equivalent with at least five years of professional experience.
• Strong Java development across Java 7/8/11/17 plus Spring/JEE, SQL Server, REST APIs, concurrency and multithreading.
• Experience with application servers and messaging systems (GlassFish, WildFly, ActiveMQ, OpenMQ, SOAP, RMI, ESB).
• Familiar with Maven, Jenkins, Git, Bitbucket, Jira, Docker, IDEs (Eclipse/IntelliJ), SoapUI/ReadyAPI, and deployment tools.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and modern infra incl. Kubernetes; secure development and OWASP practices.
• Fluency in English; working proficiency in Dutch or French.

An established organization is seeking a Senior Java Analyst Developer to join its IT team. The successful candidate will develop, maintain, and improve business applications while contributing to functional analysis, technical delivery, application support, and collaboration between IT and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

• Contribute to and validate functional analyses, translating business requirements into reliable technical solutions.
• Develop and adapt Java applications in accordance with development standards, security requirements, and project objectives.
• Perform testing, code reviews, technical documentation, release management, and deployment-related activities.
• Maintain and improve existing applications by resolving incidents, correcting defects, conducting root-cause analyses, and implementing sustainable improvements.
• Provide application support to users, contribute to support procedures, and monitor service availability, response times, and relevant KPIs.
• Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders, communicate progress, participate in Agile meetings, and proactively recommend technical and operational improvements.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Degree in Information Technology or an equivalent qualification, with at least five years of relevant professional experience.
• Strong Java development expertise across Java 7, 8, 11, or 17, combined with Spring, JEE, SQL Server, REST APIs, concurrency, and multithreading.
• Experience with application servers, integration technologies, and messaging solutions such as GlassFish, WildFly, ActiveMQ, OpenMQ, SOAP, RMI, and ESB environments.
• Familiarity with development and delivery tools including Maven, Jenkins, Git, Bitbucket, Jira, Docker, Eclipse or IntelliJ, SoapUI or ReadyAPI, and deployment automation platforms.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms and modern infrastructure practices, including AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, containerization, and preferably Kubernetes.
• Strong understanding of secure development practices, API security, encryption, dependency management, Spring Security, SonarQube, OWASP tools, and relevant data protection or security standards. Fluency in English and working proficiency in Dutch or French are required.
