The European Endowment for Democracy (EED) seeks an experienced Grants Manager to lead financial and contractual management of its grant-making, across a diverse portfolio supporting civil society and pro-democracy actors. The role emphasizes sound financial control, donor compliance, and strategic grants administration.

Working across EED’s grants portfolio, you will manage a team of staff and consultants, contribute to donor funding proposals and reporting, and help develop EED’s grants

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or Bachelor’s with equivalent experience in economics, international affairs or related field.
• At least 8 years of relevant professional experience including 5+ years in management within civil society projects.
• Strong track record in grant-making and financial/contractual management of grants.
• Experience with democracy-support donors in government, international organisations or civil society.
• Excellent knowledge of grant-making, donor compliance and financial procedures.
• Strong budgeting experience and financial report review.
• Experience managing a small team.
• Excellent English and working knowledge of Arabic, Turkish or Farsi.
• Strong Excel and digital skills.

Responsabilités

• Lead financial and contractual management of EED grants across a diverse portfolio.
• Review budgets, financial reports and supporting documentation for donor compliance.
• Oversee grant contracts, amendments, payments and internal approvals.
• Advise colleagues and grantees on donor requirements, budgets and procedures.
• Provide strategic guidance on grants and funds management.
• Manage a team of staff and consultants.
• Prepare financial components of funding proposals and donor reports.
• Support donor grants management, including expenditure monitoring and projections.
• Contribute to negotiations and reviews of donor agreements.
• Maintain grants data across EED management systems.
• Contribute to monitoring, evaluation and knowledge management.
