Job summary

Bimona is seeking a Senior Functional Analyst to join the traffic data team of a Brussels-based public transport organisation. The assignment is time & material, full-time, with start preferably 3 January 2027 and end 31 December 2031, totaling about 9,000 hours.

French or Dutch at C2 and English at C1 are required. You will collect and document stakeholder needs, translate them into functional specifications, and work with the development team to ensure solutions meet business requirements.

Job description

Senior Functional Analyst for the traffic data team of a public transport organisation in Brussels. Time & material, January 2027 to December 2031. Full-time. French or Dutch (C2) and English (C1) required.

Description

We are looking for a Senior Functional Analyst to join the traffic data team of a public transport organisation in Brussels. The assignment is time & material and full-time. It starts preferably on 3 January 2027 and runs until 31 December 2031, with an estimated volume of about 9,000 hours. You have at least 10 years of experience as a functional analyst on Agile/Scrum IT projects, and you speak French or Dutch at C2 level plus English at C1.

The team builds and maintains applications that collect and distribute traffic information, from pre-processing and real-time data to post-processing and back-office. This information goes to external parties such as transport operators, neighbouring transport organisations and European transport information platforms. Internally, it feeds real-time timetable changes for control room staff, the calculation of network usage fees and invoicing, the calculation of electricity consumption, and big data systems. You work on new developments as well as on corrective and evolutive maintenance of existing applications.

Your profile

Required:

• 10+ years of experience (expert level)
• Business and functional analysis on IT projects in an Agile/Scrum methodology (10+ years)
• Methods for gathering business requirements (10+ years)
• Creating user stories based on analysis and specifications (10+ years)
• Design and modelling techniques, UML and BPMN (5+ years)
• Documenting functional requirements (5+ years)
