Job summary

Brainbridge IT Staffing is seeking a Senior Functional Analyst to drive business and system analysis across multiple IT projects. You will translate stakeholder needs into robust functional and technical specifications and work closely with developers, rail partners and operations teams to ensure delivery aligns with business goals.

The role requires strong experience in process optimisation, test design, and API-centric architectures, plus fluency in French or Dutch and solid English.

Qualifications

• Experience in business and functional analysis within IT projects using an Agile/Scrum methodology.
• Experience with methods for collecting business requirements.
• Experience with creating user stories based on analysis and specifications.
• Experience with design and modelling techniques (UML, BPMN).
• Experience creating TestCases and TestScenarios.
• Experience with APIs and web services (REST, SOAP).
• Experience with an API testing tool (Postman or equivalent).
• Experience with an API design tool (Swagger or equivalent).
• Experience with web service security (JWT, OAuth, etc.).
• Experience with at least one programming language (Java, .NET or Python).
• Experience with XML/XSD file formats, XPath query language and XSD contract design.
• Language 1: French or Dutch (C2).
• Language 2: French or Dutch (the other) (B2).
• Language 3: English (C1).
• The candidate must demonstrate knowledge of the company, the IT world and the challenges of the role.

We are looking for a Senior Functional Analyst

Description

You will have the opportunity to work on challenging projects and play a key role in the functional and technical evolution of our software solutions. As part of this assignment, you will join the Data Solutions team and work on projects that are crucial to the continuity and performance of the core business activities.

Within our organisation:

• Real‑time visualisation of timetable changes for our signalling staff;
• Calculation of fees and invoicing for the use of our network by our customers;
• Calculation of electricity consumption related to our activities;
• Feeding expert systems such as Big Data.

You work on both new developments and on corrective and evolutionary maintenance of existing applications.

As a Senior Functional Analyst, you are responsible for analysing the needs of all stakeholders, both internal and external. You translate these needs into functional and technical specifications for our applications.

With your background in development, you work closely with the IT team, railway companies and other operational units.
