Job summary

Sompo Holdings, Inc. is seeking a Senior Financial Lines Underwriter for Belgium & Netherlands, based in Brussels. You will contribute to profitable underwriting, pricing, and growing a diversified Financial Lines and Cyber Insurance book across Europe.

You will manage client and broker relationships, negotiate terms, and travel as needed to broker meetings, while promoting Sompo’s footprint in the region and cross-selling related specialty lines products.

Qualifications

• Qualified in law, economics, finance and/or IT engineering.
• 5+ years in Financial Lines and Cyber Insurance underwriting.
• Experience growing a Financial Lines/Cyber book in Europe.
• Strong underwriting discipline and market knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to growth and profitability of Sompo International’s Financial Lines portfolio.
• Source submissions, underwrite, price, market, and manage business for Belgium and Netherlands.
• Develop and maintain relationships with clients and brokers; pursue new opportunities.
• Negotiate contracts; travel to broker meetings and conduct reviews.
• Promote Sompo footprint in Belgium and the Netherlands; cross-sell other products.
