Sompo Holdings, Inc. seeks a Senior Cyber Underwriter for Belgium & Netherlands, based in Brussels or Rotterdam. Lead growth of Cyber Insurance and Financial Lines book.
You will underwrite, price, negotiate terms with clients and brokers, and travel as needed to strengthen Sompo's footprint in Belgium and the Netherlands.
Strong networking, 5+ years cyber underwriting, and fluency in Dutch/English required; French is a plus.

The Senior Cyber Underwriter will be contributing to the growth and development of a book of profitable and diversified Financial Lines and Cyber insurance business. This new hire is aligned with the anticipated growth of the Financial Lines segment in 2026 and reflects the strategic direction of our team. Contribution to growth and profitability (bottom line) of Sompo International’s portfolio by sourcing submissions, underwriting, pricing, marketing, and managing Cyber Insurance business and territories with the goals of maximizing the expected profitability and risk‑adjusted return on capital. Manage existing relationships with clients and brokers while also developing new business opportunities. Contribute to build a well‑diversified and balanced book in terms of risk profile and segmentation. Analyse underwriting information and ensure appropriate terms and conditions are secured and aligned with our underwriting guidelines. Perform contract negotiation, attending and travelling to brokers meetings and conducting underwriting reviews. Proactively promote the Sompo footprint and increase our recognition in Belgium and Netherlands. Cross sell other Sompo International Specialty Lines products, in particular identifying insurance needs that evolve out of an insured transaction.
A recognised qualification in law, economics, finance and/ or IT engineering. 5 years + in Cyber Insurance underwriting. Affinity with Financial Lines products is a plus. Experience in building and growing a profitable Cyber Insurance book in the European markets. Proven disciplined approach to underwriting. Knowledge of the Cyber Insurance markets, regulation and products Excellent networking skills and relationships with clients and brokers in Belgium and/or Netherlands. Analytical, energetic, creative, meticulous, driven, determined self‑starter, smart, hardworking, resilient, ambitious, good team player Strong presentation and negotiation skills Flexibility and willingness to travel and offer top service quality Dutch and English at working level. French is a plus.
