Sompo International is seeking a Senior Financial Lines Underwriter for Belgium and the Netherlands. You will contribute to growth by underwriting, pricing, and marketing Financial Lines and Cyber Insurance, while managing client and broker relationships across the two countries.

The role requires 5+ years in Financial Lines and Cyber Insurance, strong knowledge of European markets, and excellent presentation and negotiation skills. Dutch and English are required, French is a plus.

Qualifications

• Qualified in law, economics, finance and/or IT engineering.
• 5+ years in Financial Lines and Cyber Insurance underwriting.
• Experience building and growing a profitable Financial Lines and Cyber Insurance book in European markets.
• Proven disciplined underwriting approach.
• Knowledge of Financial Lines markets, regulation and products.
• Excellent networking with clients and brokers in Belgium and Netherlands.
• Dutch and English at working level; French is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Contribute to growth and profitability of Sompo International’s Financial Lines portfolio.
• Source submissions, underwrite, price, market and manage Financial Lines business across Belgium and Netherlands.
• Maintain and grow relationships with clients and brokers; develop new business opportunities.
• Ensure terms align with underwriting guidelines and negotiate contracts.
• Travel to broker meetings and conduct underwriting reviews as needed.
• Promote Sompo footprint and increase market recognition in Belgium and the Netherlands.
• Cross-sell other Sompo International Specialty Lines products as appropriate.
