Degroof Petercam is seeking a Financial Analyst in Buy-Side Equity to identify investment opportunities in US market consumer staples and provide ESG-aware analyses. The role involves presenting ideas to Fund Managers and collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop actionable strategies.

The ideal candidate has a proven 10+ years as an analyst, a solid academic background with a preference for a Master’s in Economics/Finance, and fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.

Managing approximately € 3.5bn of funds and mandates for private banking and institutional clients, DPAM’s European fundamental equity franchise aims to consistently beat the market through high conviction stock picking. With a track record of over 25+ years, its investment process consistently relies on the input of DPAM’s buy side research team. You will join a complementary and experienced team, representing 5 nationalities and speaking 10 languages.

DPAM’s fundamental equity franchise aims to consistently beat the market through high conviction stock picking. The team exploits long- and short-term market inefficiencies based on a holistic approach that includes both bottom-up and top-down analysis. In this process, Portfolio Managers can rely on the input of DPAM’s expertise, including the Buy-Side Research and Macro-Economic team, as well as on interactions with other Fund Managers, Sell-Side analysts and company contacts.

Your position

What can you expect as Financial Analyst in the Buy-Side Equity team ?:

• Identifying investment opportunities on US market consumer staples through in-depth industry and company analysis, fundamentally integrating ESG risk/return factors. You will have a sector focus, and will become an expert in your domain;
• Presenting ideas to Fund Managers and other stakeholders while fully integrating ESG considerations in your financial analysis;
• Developing and presenting actionable investment ideas and contributing to the continuous improvement cycle of best practices

Your profile

• Proven track record of at least 10 years as analyst;
• Solid academic credentials. We do welcome candidates with non-financial degrees, with the willingness to become a CFA charterholder. A Master’s degree in Economics/Finance is however preferred;
• Relevant knowledge of the US Market consumer staples and discretionary ;
• Proactive mindset and ablity to work independently;
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills;
• A hunger for delivering exceptional results;
• Fluency in English; additional European languages are a plus;
• The function involves regular travel to conferences and company site visits (at least 10% of the time);
