Job summary

Uni Systems Group is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to support daily financial operations across entities in the International F&A department. You will lead month-end close, prepare journal entries, and oversee AP/AR while mentoring junior staff.

You will ensure VAT compliance, GAAP adherence, and contribute to quarterly reporting. The role requires 5+ years in accounting, a relevant degree, strong SAP and Excel skills, and fluency in English with French desirable.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in accounting or finance.
• Knowledge of accounting standards, financial reporting, and month-end closing.
• Proficiency with SAP and strong Excel skills.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and reconciliation abilities.
• Understanding of EU VAT principles; IAS/IFRS a plus.
• Fluent English; French desirable.

Responsibilities

The Senior Financial Accountant supports the daily financial operations of the International F&A department, contributing to the seamless functioning of the accounting processes for all company entities & supporting junior team members.

What will you be bringing to the team?

• Lead the month, quarter, and year-end closing processes, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
• Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals.
• Oversee AP/AR processes, ensuring compliance with policies and deadlines.
• Review and analyze aging reports and take proactive action on overdue items.
• Manage bank and petty cash reconciliations.
• Prepare and review VAT, EC, VIES, and other tax declarations, ensuring timely submission and accuracy.
• Perform balance sheet and P&L variance analyses and recommend corrective actions as needed.
• Support the implementation of process improvements and automation initiatives within accounting.
• Mentor and support junior team members in daily activities & facilitate knowledge exchange.
• Ensure compliance with local GAAP.
• Assist in preparing the quarterly financial reporting

What do you need to succeed in this position?

• Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting or finance.
• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• In-depth knowledge of accounting standards, financial reporting, and month-end closing processes.
• Proven proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and strong Excel skills.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and reconciliation abilities.
• Strong understanding of tax and VAT principles applicable in EU jurisdictions.
• Knowledge of IAS/ IFRS will be considered a plus.
• Excellent use of English, both written and verbal.
• Good command of French is desirable.
