Akkodis Belgium is seeking an experienced Senior Engineer HVAC to lead the design and development of HVAC systems for large-scale industrial and infrastructure projects. You will contribute from concept through commissioning, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in HVAC engineering, strong design skills, and knowledge of AHUs, ventilation, and cleanroom systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical/Electromechanical engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in HVAC engineering and design.
• Strong expertise in HVAC calculations and system sizing.
• Experience with AHUs, ventilation, heating, cooling, and cleanroom systems.

Responsabilités

• Design and develop HVAC systems for complex industrial, energy, infrastructure, and building projects.
• Perform heating/cooling load, airflow, and pressure loss calculations; size equipment.
• Prepare specifications, datasheets, design reports and documentation.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and review supplier/contractor docs.
• Support procurement and commissioning activities; ensure safety and quality standards.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Engineer HVAC for one of our key clients. In this role, you will play a key part in the design and development of HVAC systems for large-scale industrial, energy, infrastructure, and high-tech projects. You will be involved throughout the engineering lifecycle, from concept and feasibility studies to detailed design and commissioning support.

Hybrid: 3 days onsite per week

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop HVAC systems for complex industrial, energy, infrastructure, and building projects.
• Perform HVAC calculations including heating and cooling load calculations, airflow calculations, pressure loss calculations, and equipment sizing.
• Prepare technical specifications, datasheets, design reports, and engineering documentation.
• Develop HVAC concepts and detailed engineering solutions in compliance with project requirements and applicable standards.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including mechanical, electrical, process, civil, and safety engineers.
• Review and validate supplier and contractor technical documentation.
• Participate in design reviews, technical meetings, and client discussions.
• Support procurement activities through technical evaluations and bid assessments.
• Contribute to commissioning and start-up activities when required.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
• Promote energy-efficient and sustainable HVAC solutions across projects.
• Mentor junior engineers and share technical expertise within the team.

Your profile:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Electromechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in HVAC engineering.
• Strong expertise in HVAC design and calculations.
• Experience with AHUs, ventilation, heating, cooling, and cleanroom systems.
• Familiarity with industrial, energy, infrastructure, or pharmaceutical projects.
• Knowledge of international HVAC standards and regulations.
• Experience working in multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Fluent in English and Dutch.
