Senior Automation Engineer, Life Sciences
Location: Diegem, Belgium
Do you enjoy working on industrial automation projects where you can take responsibility for your own engineering work, solve technical challenges and see the results at customer sites?
As a Senior Automation Engineer at Emerson, you will develop, configure and implement automation and process control solutions for customers in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries.
You will work on different projects, each with its own technical requirements and challenges. Some assignments may take just a few weeks, while others can continue for a year or longer. Depending on the project, you may work independently on defined engineering activities or collaborate with a larger team of specialists.
Your work covers the engineering process from detailed design and configuration to testing, commissioning and handover. Throughout these stages, you will be responsible for delivering reliable technical solutions that meet both customer requirements and the quality standards of regulated production environments.
Depending on the assignment, you may be responsible for a specific technical work package within a larger project or manage the engineering activities of a smaller project yourself. You will have the opportunity to work with different customers and production processes, rather than focusing on the same installation every day.
Experience with Emerson DeltaV is an advantage, as is knowledge of SCADA systems, historians, batch applications or system integration.
Familiarity with pharmaceutical manufacturing processes such as CIP/SIP, sterile manufacturing and batch processing would also be beneficial.
Relevant training or certification in GAMP 5, CSV, CQV, DeltaV, functional safety or industrial cybersecurity would be welcome.
At Emerson, you will be part of a global technology and engineering company that helps customers address some of the world’s most important industrial challenges.
You will work in an environment where innovation, collaboration and practical problem-solving are part of everyday work. Our diverse businesses, technologies and customers provide opportunities to contribute to meaningful projects, learn from experienced colleagues and build a broad professional network.
Emerson combines the reach and expertise of an international organization with strong local teams. You will have access to knowledge, tools and development opportunities from across the company, while working closely with colleagues and customers in your region.
We encourage people to take ownership of your work, share ideas and continue developing your capabilities. As your experience grows, you can explore different career paths across technical, project, consulting, commercial and leadership roles.
By joining Emerson, you will become part of an organization that values its people, supports continuous learning and works to deliver solutions that make industries safer, more efficient and more sustainable.
You will join Emerson's engineering organisation in Diegem, working with colleagues who have extensive experience in industrial automation and process control.
We offer a competitive compensation and benefits package, opportunities for training and professional development, and access to technical expertise from across our international organisation.
Your working week will involve a combination of office based engineering and visits to customer sites, depending on the project phase. Some periods will primarily involve design and configuration work, while others may require more frequent customer visits for testing and commissioning.
Our current working arrangements allow for one day of working from home per week, depending on project requirements.
