Job summary

Smarterminds seeks a Senior Software Test Engineer to validate embedded software for display modules and driving boards. You will create and execute test cases, develop automation, and work closely with software architects and engineers to ensure quality.

The role requires expertise in CANoe, CAPL, CAN, I2C, SPI, UDS, and ISTQB methods, with experience in DOORS/JAMA and defect tracking tools. Hybrid work in Belgium is offered with strong growth potential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics, Computer Science, or related field.
• EU-based candidate willing to relocate to Belgium.
• 5+ years in automotive software testing.
• Strong experience in CANoe and CAPL scripting.
• Expertise in CAN, I2C, and SPI testing.
• Experience in diagnostic testing (CAN, UDS).
• Proficiency in oscilloscope-based testing.
• Knowledge of ISTQB testing methodologies and test case/script creation.
• Hands-on experience with requirements management tools (DOORS, JAMA).
• Experience with defect tracking tools (Redmine, JIRA, CoreALM).
• Familiarity with version control tools (GIT, SVN).
• ASPICE SWE5-6 test activities and the V-Model process.
• Strong analytical and decision-making for software requirement analysis, defect logging, and verification.
• Excellent communication skills in English.

This role involves test case creation, execution, and automation to ensure software quality, working closely with software architects and engineers. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of embedded software architectures, hardware functionality, and qualification processes aligned with ASPICE standards.

Requirements
