Job summary

Jan De Nul Group, based in Aalst, is seeking a Project Engineer within Operations Support to ensure dredging projects start strong and safely from day one. From the Aalst office, you turn plans into clear execution frameworks, coordinating with internal and external partners to drive a smooth mobilisation.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in industrial or civil engineering or equivalent.
• Excellent command of Dutch and English, both spoken and written.
• Strong planning and organisational skills with good overview of projects and deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate across departments.
• Willingness to travel abroad for short assignments.

Responsibilities

• Develop execution plans based on input from tender engineers, coordinating with contractors, suppliers and engineering firms.
• Coordinate with internal departments for a clear plan and defined roles.
• Work closely with Construction (Works) Manager Dredging Operations Support on the project.
• Oversee communication between all parties to ensure safe, effective, and cost-efficient approaches.
• Prepare detailed operational requirements and equipment lists for mobilisation; monitor execution.
• Respond quickly to problems and collaborate with departments to solve them.
• Contribute to process and method optimization and share best practices within the team and across the organisation.
