Job summary

Pauwels Consulting is supporting a prominent public transport client in Brussels. We seek an expert to modernize the payment ecosystem, drive PSP and Acquiring transitions, and lead essential compliance initiatives within an agile setting.

The role requires coordinating finance, legal, security, and architecture teams to shape the target payment architecture, manage risks, and report to senior management. Hybrid work with onsite days is expected.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in complex project management within regulated environments.
• 3+ years of specialized expertise in electronic payments, including PSP, Acquiring, and monetics.
• Proven track record in PCI-DSS compliance projects or comparable payment security initiatives.
• Experience in public procurement, including drafting RFP specifications and managing tender processes.
• Advanced skills in budget management and risk and dependency management.
• Strong Supplier Relationship Management skills with IT and payment service providers.
• Experience working within Agile frameworks and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
• Native in Dutch or French with professional working proficiency in English.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of digital payment ecosystem modernization, including procurement and implementation of new acquiring and PSP services.
• Drive compliance and certification efforts for the payment ecosystem to meet regulatory standards.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams across finance, legal, security, and architecture to consolidate requirements.
• Define target architecture for payment flows and manage transitions between legacy and future PSPs.
• Monitor project risks, dependencies, budgets, and timelines with strategic reporting to senior management.
• Prepare public procurement documents, technical specifications, and tender evaluations for large IT and payment services.
