Job summary

Atlas Copco Group in Wilrijk, Belgium, is seeking a designer centrifugal compressors to lead the engineering of next‑generation direct‑drive and integrally geared compressors. You will design complete compressor cores, manage large assemblies, and maintain BOM accuracy in a collaborative, hybrid work setting.

Key requirements include a mechanical engineering degree, CATIA CAD modeling, GD&T proficiency, and willingness to travel occasionally.

Qualifications

• Degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent mechanical design experience.
• Advanced CATIA CAD modeling proficiency.
• Applied knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing alongside standard production methods.
• Experience working within product lifecycle management systems is a plus.
• Professional fluency in English or Dutch with a willingness for occasional travel abroad.

Responsibilities

• Engineer complete compressor cores, manage large assemblies and BOMs.
• Develop complex CAD models and perform parametric variant modeling.
• Conduct basic FEA and mechanical calculations to validate designs.
• Collaborate with project teams and incorporate production feedback.
• Occasionally assist with prototype assembly and custom designs.
