Job summary

Crunch, a Data & AI Agency, is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design scalable data architectures and lead modern lakehouse/warehouse implementations across Databricks, Snowflake, and BigQuery. You will set standards for ETL/ELT pipelines, data modeling, and CI/CD integration, while mentoring a team and guiding client engagements.

You will collaborate with data scientists, ML engineers, and BI developers, embedding observability and data quality from day one.

Qualifications

• Proven track record shipping production-grade data platforms end to end.
• Expert Python and SQL with strong coding standards.
• Deep experience with at least one major cloud and modern data platforms (Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery, or Fabric).
• Hands-on with dbt and modern transformation frameworks.
• Solid grasp of orchestration tools (Airflow, Dagster, etc.).
• Strong data modeling knowledge (Kimball, Data Vault 2.0).
• Experience with CI/CD, testing, and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform or Bicep).
• Unix familiarity and strong software engineering fundamentals.
• Experience mentoring or leading engineers.
• Fluent in English.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of scalable data architectures that fit a customer's stack and five-year ambitions.
• Design and implement lakehouse/warehouse setups on major platforms (Databricks, Fabric, BigQuery, Snowflake).
• Set standards for ETL/ELT pipelines using dbt, Airflow, Dagster, or similar.
• Advise on data modeling approaches based on use case.
• Embed CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code into projects from day one.
• Build streaming and real-time pipelines when justified (Kafka, Spark, Debezium, Fivetran).
• Set up monitoring, lineage, and data quality frameworks.
• Collaborate with data scientists, ML engineers, and BI developers.
• Coach medior engineers to improve code quality and architecture.
• Act as trusted advisor to clients translating ambitions into scalable solutions.
