itsme® in Belgium is hiring a Data Engineer to build and scale the data platform that powers reporting, security, fraud detection and product decisions across the company. You will design pipelines, move data from source systems into a well-modelled central platform, ensuring a reliable data foundation.

You’ll work with Databricks, Snowflake and Azure Synapse, implement data governance, and collaborate with an international team to deliver impactful analytics and insights.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology, or a related field.
• Minimum 3–4 years of professional experience as a data engineer or in a closely related role, preferably in the software industry.
• Strong programming skills in Python, PySpark and SQL, with experience building production-grade data pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with a modern cloud data platform; Databricks and/or Microsoft Fabric (or comparable tools such as Azure DF, Synapse, Snowflake) is a strong plus.
• Solid understanding of data modelling concepts (dimensional modelling, data vault, or similar) and governed enterprise data models.
• Experience with both batch and streaming data processing; familiarity with event streaming technologies (e.g. Kafka, Spark Structured Streaming).
• Familiarity with software engineering best practices: Git, CI/CD (Github), testing, and infrastructure-as-code.
• Familiarity with data governance, security, and privacy considerations in digital identity or financial contexts.
• Experience with Power BI or other BI tooling is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to work independently in hybrid or remote setup.
• Excellent communication and collaboration in an international, multi-disciplinary environment.

Responsabilités

• Design, build, and maintain robust data ingestion pipelines from diverse source systems into our central platform.
• Develop and operate batch and streaming pipelines using modern cloud solutions like Databricks or Snowflake.
• Migrate and modernize reporting workloads from Azure Synapse to the new platform.
• Implement data quality, monitoring, and observability for reliable pipelines.
• Leverage the data platform to support use cases such as fraud signals and behavioural insights.
• Apply engineering practices: version control, CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code (Terraform), and documentation.
