KaraFun Group is expanding its data team in Brussels and seeks a Senior Data Engineer to take technical ownership of the data platform. You will work closely with data, backend and infra teams to master and operate GCP-based pipelines, BigQuery schemas and SQLMesh transformations, ensuring the data is reliable, understandable and well-modeled.

The role emphasizes improving ingestion, freshness, observability, and data contracts, while keeping costs under control.

Qualificações

Experience owning data platforms end-to-end.
Experience with GCP, BigQuery and modern data tooling.
Strong data modeling and pipeline design skills.
Ability to design observability and data quality checks.
Collaborative mindset across data, backend and infra teams.

Responsabilidades

Take technical ownership of the data platform and data warehouse.
Understand and evolve existing architecture and data flows.
Maintain and improve ingestion pipelines and integrate new sources.
Ensure data freshness, availability and reliability.
Design and maintain modeling layers: ingested, staging, models, dimensions, facts.
Evolve transformations with SQLMesh.
Set up tests and quality checks for data contracts.
Implement observability to detect data issues quickly.
Investigate incidents and derive root causes.
Collaborate on data contracts and cost optimization.
Support Data Analyst needs and architecture decisions.
