Job summary

BDO Belgium in Gent/Roeselare is seeking a Senior Consultant Accountancy to independently manage client accounts and deliver strategic financial insights. You will advise clients during visits and prepare interim statements, VAT returns, and annual financial statements.

You will mentor junior colleagues and strengthen leadership capabilities while collaborating with managers and partners to drive client success. A hybrid work model is offered with flexibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accountancy, Finance, or Economics.
• 2+ years of significant accounting experience with solid technical skills.
• ITAA certification is a plus and supported by the employer.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage various client accounts.
• Provide personalised financial advice through regular client visits.
• Prepare interim balance sheets, VAT returns, and annual financial statements and tax returns.
• Mentor junior colleagues and develop leadership skills.

As Senior Consultant at BDO Gent/Roeselare, you are the trusted advisor your clients need. You'll transform financial data into strategic insights that help businesses, from innovative SMEs to international corporations, make decisions with confidence and clarity.

What will you be doing?

As a Senior Consultant Accountancy, you'll collaborate closely with managers and partners to:

• Independently manage various client accounts.
• Offer your clients personalised and pragmatic financial advise through regular visits. You’re their go-to business advisor, carrying them from point A to point Z.
• Tackle detailed financial tasks: update clients’ financial results, prepare interim balance sheets, manage VAT returns, and compile annual financial statements and tax returns.
• Develop future talent by mentoring junior colleagues while building your leadership skills.

What do you bring to the table?

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accountancy, Finance, or Economics.
• At least 2 years of significant accounting experience, with solid technical skills.
• ITAA certification is a plus (we’ll support your journey)
• Fluency in Dutch and proficiency in English. French is a plus.
• Curious mindset with creative problem-solving skills, always taking on challenges with an optimistic mindset.
• You love to collaborate with colleagues and clients, expressing your analytical insights in a thoughtful way. Even with tight deadlines.
