Job summary

Sopra Steria is seeking an Enterprise Architect specializing in Cloud and Digital Sovereignty to shape our cloud strategy across public, private, hybrid, and sovereign cloud environments. You will lead architectural decisions at the intersection of enterprise, security, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in cloud architecture, infrastructure architecture, or comparable technical leadership roles.
• Deep expertise in at least one major cloud ecosystem (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud) with broad hybrid/multi-cloud understanding.
• Strong understanding of digital sovereignty and cloud-related regulatory considerations (GDPR, NIS2, extraterritorial legislation).
• Experience designing or governing cloud landing zones, multi-account/multi-subscription environments, and cloud security architectures.
• Knowledge of identity and access management, network architecture, encryption, key management, and Zero Trust.
• Familiarity with TOGAF, ArchiMate, or similar enterprise architecture frameworks.
• Ability to collaborate with Security, Legal, Compliance, Risk, Data Protection, infra and app teams on complex sovereignty questions.

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve the enterprise cloud architecture strategy across diverse cloud environments.
• Define target-state cloud architectures and reference patterns for compute, storage, networking, identity, and services.
• Translate digital sovereignty requirements into architecture principles and design choices.
• Define cloud governance principles including landing zones, cost governance, tagging, and workload placement.
• Establish cloud security architecture principles for IAM, network security, encryption, and Zero Trust.
• Assess sovereign or trusted cloud models and fit them into the enterprise strategy.
• Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, Security, Risk, and Data Protection stakeholders on architecture decisions.
• Guide migration and modernisation initiatives while maintaining architectural consistency.
• Define architecture principles for portability and reversibility to manage vendor lock-in.
• Lead architecture reviews and risk assessments for cloud initiatives.
