Senior Business Analyst - Freelance - Mechelen

We are looking for an experienced Business Analyst to join a dynamic team within a leading telecommunications and digital services organisation in Belgium. The company provides a broad range of connectivity, mobile, fixed-line, entertainment and digital solutions to residential and business customers.

In this role, you will act as the bridge between business stakeholders, product owners and technical teams, translating business needs into clear functional requirements and supporting the delivery of high-quality solutions. You will contribute to projects focused on process optimisation, digital transformation and the continuous improvement of customer-facing and internal applications.

Responsibilities

• Analyse business processes, identify improvement opportunities and translate business needs into actionable requirements.
• Conduct stakeholder interviews, workshops and requirements-gathering sessions with business and IT teams.
• Document business requirements, functional specifications, user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Translate business requirements into clear functional solutions in collaboration with solution architects, developers and product owners.
• Analyse existing systems and processes to identify gaps, dependencies and potential risks.
• Support Agile delivery teams throughout the development lifecycle, from initial analysis through implementation and release.
• Collaborate with QA and testing teams to define test scenarios, validate solutions and ensure alignment with business expectations.
• Facilitate communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure a shared understanding of project objectives.

Skills

• At least 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst in a complex business and IT environment.
• Proven experience in requirements engineering, business process modelling and functional analysis.
• Experience working with Agile methodologies, including Scrum and/or Kanban.
• Strong skills in stakeholder management, workshop facilitation and requirements documentation.
• Ability to translate complex business needs into clear, structured and actionable functional requirements.
• Experience working closely with developers, solution architects, product owners and testing teams.
• Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Visio and process-modelling tools.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
