Job summary

Spott, a Leuven, Belgium–based AI startup, seeks a backend-focused engineer to drive the backend of our recruitment platform using TypeScript and Node.js. You will shape core features, improve backend quality, and scale systems to support rapid growth.

The role values solving complex problems, mentoring teammates, and contributing to architectural decisions in a fast-moving, innovative environment.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in IT/Computer Science/Software Engineering.
• 2+ years of experience in backend development.
• Experience mentoring engineers and influencing architecture decisions.
• Experience building AI-driven applications (prompt engineering or fine-tuning is a plus).

Responsibilities

• Back-end development of the recruitment platform using Typescript and Node.js.
• Work on core product features and backend code improvements to support growth.
• Set the technical direction for major parts of the backend, lead design discussions and review code.
• Work in a fast-moving environment where you can learn and grow quickly.
