Job summary

Amaris Consulting is seeking a Senior Automation Equipment Engineer to lead equipment engineering for 401 Automation and Automated Packaging in a hybrid Belgium setting. You’ll drive design, installation, commissioning, and handover, coordinating with multiple teams and OEMs to ensure robust, safe, and compliant operation.

The role requires 8+ years in automation, strong PLC/HMI and safety knowledge, and fluency in English and French.

Qualifications

8+ years in automation or capital equipment engineering in packaging, material handling, or manufacturing.
Experience delivering equipment from spec through FAT, SAT, installation and handover.
Knowledge of machinery safety: EN ISO 12100, EN ISO 13849, CE marking.
Experience in regulated environments (GxP, validation, change control).

Responsibilities

Own equipment engineering for 401 Automation and Automated Packaging from specs to handover.
Define equipment specs, layouts, utilities, and interfaces; review PLC/HMI designs.
Agree conveyor interfaces, machine handshakes, signals, and fault-recovery logic.
Lead risk reviews with EHS and coordinate FAT, SAT, installation, commissioning, and acceptance.
Prepare maintenance plans, spare parts lists, training, and handover documents.
Collaborate across functions to support reliability and resolve faults.
