Lever, Inc. is seeking an Expert Team Lead, SWE in Belgium to guide a hands-on AI Tutor team focused on high-quality data for AI model development.

You will review, annotate, and improve data pipelines, establish QA standards, and drive continuous improvements across data labeling, evaluation, and tooling. This role blends leadership with direct technical contribution in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of hands-on data labeling or AI evaluation experience.
• Experience building scalable software applications or technical environments.
• Understanding of data quality metrics and annotation workflows.
• Basic knowledge of AI/ML concepts and model data impact.
• People management, coaching, and certification experience.
• Experience leading small teams in data labeling or related areas.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-moving environment.
• Strong communication skills to align stakeholders.
• KPI-driven analysis and SQL familiarity.
• Experience with distributed teams and mixed employment models.

Responsabilités

• Own end-to-end quality and delivery for assigned human data projects, reviewing work and ensuring accuracy and data production at scale.
• Lead, coach, and performance-manage a team of AI Tutors, including performance reviews and development plans.
• Participate directly in labeling, annotation, evaluation, and review activities to maintain high standards.
• Establish and enforce QA processes, taxonomy standards, workflow guidelines, and evaluation criteria.
• Monitor operational KPIs such as quality scores and throughput to identify bottlenecks.
• Develop and maintain training materials and certification benchmarks; manage certification processes.
• Partner with data managers, team leads, and engineering to translate requirements into labeling strategies.
• Foster a high-performance culture with coaching and development initiatives.
• Document project outcomes and communicate status and risks to stakeholders.
• Represent AI Tutor team needs and promote collaboration across the organization.
