Job summary

You will join Finance BV as a Senior Accountant, handling broad financial responsibilities and working with the Finance & IT Director across Oostende and Deurne. The role emphasizes accurate financial administration, timely VAT returns, and reliable reporting to management.

Requirements include a bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting or related field and at least 5 years of experience in all-round accounting. Dutch and English fluency are essential for this position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in accounting, taxation, economics or a related field.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in an all-round accounting role.
• Strong knowledge of general accounting and periodic closings.
• Experience with VAT returns and financial reporting.
• Independent and accurate approach to your work.
• Proactive attitude and responsibility for own files.
• Calm, pragmatic and no-nonsense personality; team player.
• Fluent in Dutch and able to communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Processing purchase and sales invoices, bank transactions and financial journals.
• Performing monthly and quarterly closings, including accruals and depreciation.
• Preparing and submitting periodic VAT returns and intra-Community listings.
• Preparing the annual accounts and balance sheet in cooperation with the Finance & IT Director.
• Following up on outstanding customer invoices and managing accounts receivable.
• Processing and paying supplier invoices on time.
• Preparing interim profit and loss statements and financial reports.
• Monitoring budgets and financial developments.
• Analytically processing and interpreting financial data.
• Supporting the Finance & IT Director with financial analyses, reporting and projects.
