Sabena Engineering seeks an experienced accounting professional to manage general ledger, closing, tax obligations, and financial reporting in a multinational environment. You will handle VAT and corporate income tax, maintain fixed assets, and coordinate audits.

Expertise in SAP and Belgian GAAP is essential. The role involves cross-functional collaboration with Controlling, Procurement, Logistics and Legal, contributing to automation of finance processes.

Qualifications

• Higher education qualification in accounting, finance or business administration.
• At least five years of experience in general accounting, with full command of the end-to-end accounting cycle.
• Proven experience in closing, audit, reporting and Belgian tax obligations.
• Excellent command of SAP & Excel (MS Office).
• Strong knowledge of Belgian accounting standards (Belgian GAAP) and Belgian taxation, particularly VAT and corporate income tax.

Responsabilités

• Maintain and review the general ledger throughout the full accounting cycle.
• Process complex accounting transactions and supplier invoices requiring specific analysis.
• Record and document provisions, prepaid expenses, accrued income, accruals and adjusting entries.
• Record payroll documents and reconcile accruals related to salaries.
• Analyse, reconcile and substantiate balance sheet and P&L accounts and follow up on outstanding items.
• Play an active role in monthly and annual closings, in line with the Group timetable and procedures.
• Prepare the annual accounts and contribute to filing formalities with the National Bank of Belgium (NBB).
• Prepare closing files and supporting documentation for internal and external auditors.
• Respond to audit requests and implement recommendations.
• Provide management and partner functions with accurate, reliable accounting information.
• Contribute to data flows between AMOS and SAP.
• Provide technical support to accounting team and work cross-functionally with Controlling, Procurement, Logistics, Legal.

YourMainResponsibilities:

1. General accounting and closing

• Maintain and review the general ledger throughout the full accounting cycle, from A to Z.
• Process complex accounting transactions and supplier invoices requiring specific analysis.
• Record and document provisions, prepaid expenses,accruedincome,accrualsand adjusting entries.

2.Reporting,controlsand analysis

• Prepare the financial analyses, reconciliations and control schedulesrequiredtomonitorthe business.
• Check the consistency of expense accounts, monthlyentriesand data from operational systems.
• Identifydiscrepancies and anomalies, analyse theircausesand proposeappropriate correctiveactions.
• Contribute to the implementation, documentation and monitoring of accounting and internal control procedures.

3. Tax and regulatory obligations

• Prepare and review VAT returns, Intrastatdeclarationsand EC Sales Lists.
• Prepare corporate income tax files in coordination with tax advisers.
• Complete statistical surveys and ensure compliance with other applicable legal and regulatory obligations.
• Ensure that accounting and tax treatmentscomply withcurrent Belgian legislation.

4. Fixed assets

• Maintain the fixed asset register and ensure the correct accounting treatment of asset acquisitions,transfersand disposals.
• Review depreciation,revaluationsand other fixed-asset movements.

5.Audit and stakeholder relations

• Prepare closing files and supporting documentation for internal and external auditors.
• Respond to audit requests, follow up on openpointsand contribute to implementing recommendations.
• Provide management,subsidiariesand partner functions withaccurate,reliableand well-documented accounting information.

6.Systemsand master data administration

• Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes, controls and data flows between AMOS and SAP.

7.Support and coordination

• Provide technical support to members of the accounting team and share best practices.
• Work cross-functionally with Controlling, Procurement, Logistics, Legal and other relevant functions.
• Participate in projects to optimise,harmoniseand automate finance processes.

YourProfile:

• Higher education qualification in accounting, finance or business administration, or equivalent experience.
• At leastfive yearsof experience in general accounting, with full command of the end-to-end accounting cycle, ideally in an international environment.
• Proven experience in closing, audit,reportingand Belgian tax obligations.
• Excellent command of SAP& Excel (MSOffice)
• Strong knowledge of Belgian accounting standards (BelgianGAAP)(IFRS) and Belgian taxation, particularly VAT and corporate income tax.
• Professionalproficiencyin spoken and written Dutch and English, French is a plus.
• Analytical thinking, soundjudgementand a solution-oriented approach.
• Clear communication and the ability to interact effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
