GIGA Storage is expanding its SCADA team in Genk to build and operate a central SCADA platform for large-scale battery storage across Europe. You will shape end-to-end signal architecture, coordinate integration with EMS and data platforms, and take on increasing technical leadership as the portfolio grows.

You will work with operations, IT/OT and external integrators, translating needs into functional specifications and ensuring reliable data flows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Automation, Electromechanical Engineering, Energy, ICT or a comparable technical field.
• Around 4 to 6 years of relevant experience in industrial automation, SCADA or an OT environment.
• Understanding of the automation chain from field equipment to central systems, including Modbus, IEC 104 and OPC UA.
• Experience with HMI/visualisation, functional testing and FAT/SAT. EMS integration is a plus.
• Analytical mindset, strong communication skills and the confidence to work with and challenge technical suppliers and system integrators.
• Fluency in Dutch and English; willingness to travel occasionally to our sites and colleagues in the Netherlands.

Responsabilités

• Translate requirements from Operations, Asset Management, Safety and IT/OT into clear functional SCADA specifications, and work with suppliers and system integrators to turn them into working solutions.
• Take ownership of the end-to-end signal architecture, including signal lists, naming conventions, HMI visualisations, dashboards and system overviews.
• Coordinate the integration between local SCADA systems, the central platform and connected systems such as EMS and data platforms, ensuring reliable data flows and communication.
• Prepare and execute FAT and SAT testing, validate system functionality and gradually take the technical lead during commissioning.
• Monitor system performance, alarms and data flows, analyse incidents and work with colleagues and suppliers on improvements, while growing into a central SCADA point of contact within GIGA Storage.
