Job summary

MindWave in Belgium is seeking an experienced Freelance SAP BI professional to lead migration projects and modernise enterprise reporting across domains such as Customer Services, HR, Finance and IT.

You will analyze requirements, design architectures using SAP BW/4HANA, SAP Datasphere, Azure Synapse, Databricks and Power BI, coordinate onshore/offshore teams, validate reports and drive testing and data cleansing.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years in a BI/analytics or migration role (Application Owner/Functional Analyst/Project Manager).
• Proven SAP BW migration experience to BW/4HANA or Azure BI solutions.
• Experience with Agile (Scrum/Kanban) and toolsets like JIRA/Confluence.

Responsibilities

• Analyse, document and translate reporting requirements into functional specs.
• Assess AS-IS reporting and design future-proof SAP BW/4HANA, Datasphere, Azure Synapse, Databricks and Power BI solutions.
• Coordinate migration initiatives to BW/4HANA and Azure BI, acting as main business-IT liaison.
• Manage stakeholders across levels and coordinate onshore/offshore teams.
• Validate reports/dashboards and define test scenarios, data cleansing and documentation.
• Maintain roadmaps and ensure architectural consistency with Architects.
• Own applications, reports and dashboards and resolve functional/technical issues.

We are currently looking for an experienced FreelanceSAP BW/BW/4HANA professional with a strong background in BI migration, functional analysis and stakeholder management?

Join the Data & Analytics team and play a key role in transforming and modernising enterprise reporting solutions across multiple business domains, including Customer Services, Technical Operations, HR, Finance, Strategy & Legal, Internal Audit and IT.

Your Responsibilities

• Analyse, document and translate business reporting and dashboard requirements into functional specifications.
• Assess existing reporting solutions (AS-IS) and contribute to the design of future-proof architectures using SAP BW/4HANA, SAP Datasphere, Azure Synapse, Databricks and Power BI.
• Coordinate and contribute to SAP BW migration initiatives towards SAP BW/4HANA and Azure-based BI solutions.
• Act as the single point of contact between Business and IT, facilitating collaboration across departments and technical teams.
• Manage stakeholders at all levels, from operational teams to senior management.
• Coordinate onshore and offshore development teams throughout migration projects, contributing hands-on where required.
• Validate reports and dashboards delivered by internal and external developers.
• Define and execute test scenarios, functional testing and data cleansing activities.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation, application roadmaps and functional specifications.
• Ensure alignment with Enterprise, System and Solution Architects to safeguard architectural consistency.
• Take ownership of the applications, reports and dashboards under your responsibility, proactively identifying and resolving functional and technical issues.

Experience & Methodology

• At least 5 years of relevant experience in a similar role, such as Application Owner, Functional Analyst or Project Manager.
• Proven experience with SAP BW migration projects, particularly migrations to SAP BW/4HANA or Azure-based BI solutions.
• Experience working with Agile methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban.
• Familiarity with JIRA and Confluence.

Technical Expertise

You have solid knowledge of and practical experience with:

• SAP BW and SAP BW/4HANA
• SAP Embedded Analytics
• SAP Datasphere
• SAP Analysis for Office (AFO)
• Microsoft Power BI
• Azure Enterprise BI architecture, including relevant products and services

Soft Skills & Competencies

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to tackle complex BI and migration challenges independently.
• Excellent communication skills and a strong solution-delivery mindset.
• Proven stakeholder management skills across business departments, technical teams and senior management.
• Experience coordinating development teams, including offshore resources.
• A structured approach to functional analysis, documentation, testing and solution design.
• The ability to take a holistic view of business processes and translate business needs into coherent, end-to-end solutions.

Languages

• Dutch or French at native level or CEFR C1 or above.
• The other language at least B2 level.
• English at least B2 level.
