HumanInTech seeks an on-site supervision specialist for a major office refurbishment in Brussels. You will coordinate the main contractor, subcontractors and technical specialists from preparation through to final handover.

The role requires a solid background in building techniques and a practical, solutions-oriented mindset. You will monitor progress, ensure plans are followed, and participate in provisional and final handovers, with a nine-month assignment from October 2026 to June 2027.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction or related technical field.
• Concrete experience in site supervision and coordination.
• Experience in renovation, transformation or office refurbishment is valuable.
• Experience on client side, design office, main contractor or PM firm is an asset.

What you will do

You will act as the technical point of contact on site for a major office refurbishment project in Brussels, coordinating the main contractor, subcontractors and technical specialists from preparation through to final handover.

Site supervision

• Monitor progress and quality of works on site
• Attend site meetings and coordinate the various parties involved
• Verify that works comply with plans, specifications and decisions taken
• Identify and resolve technical or coordination issues
• Track the schedule and follow up on agreed actions

Plans and execution

• Read and analyse construction and execution plans
• Monitor plans submitted by contractors and their adaptations
• Verify proper coordination between architecture, construction and special techniques
• Track as-built plans and documentation

Special techniques

You will need practical knowledge to discuss with specialists and challenge proposed solutions in the following areas:

• HVAC, heating, ventilation and air conditioning
• Electricity and lighting
• Fire detection and protection
• Access control and badge systems
• Intrusion and security
• Cabling and technical/IT infrastructure

You do not need to be an expert in each discipline, but you should have a solid general understanding of building techniques and how they interact.

Refurbishment and works

• Monitor demolition, partitioning, doors, glazing and interior fit-out
• Track the integration of technical systems into new layouts
• Analyse modifications and additional works
• Monitor cost adjustments (additional and reduced works) and their impact on the project

Handover

• Participate in provisional and final handovers
• Track defects and their resolution
• Verify the handover of technical documents and as-built plans

What we are looking for

Education and experience

• Minimum bachelor degree in construction or a technical field related to building
• Concrete experience in site supervision and coordination
• Experience in renovation, transformation or office refurbishment is an important asset
• Experience on the client side, at a design office, general contractor or project/construction management firm is an asset

Technical skills

• Strong ability to read and understand construction and execution plans
• Good practical knowledge of building special techniques
• Ability to discuss with HVAC, electrical, fire, access control and intrusion specialists

The setting

This is a full-time assignment running from October 2026 to June 2027 (nine months). The role is based in Brussels with no remote working option.

You will need to speak Dutch or French at native or bilingual level. English is a nice to have.
