Job summary

Qover, a Brussels-based insurtech scale-up, is hiring an Engineering Lead to guide a core product engineering team. You will balance people leadership with hands-on technical delivery, working across policy management or other domains within Qover’s insurance platform.

You will champion AI-assisted engineering, establish guardrails for AI tools, and mentor engineers to ensure security, quality and accountability while driving meaningful business impact.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of technical leadership and production systems experience.
• Experience with distributed systems and API design.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, Git workflows, CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with cloud environments (GCP preferred).
• People leadership and coaching experience.
• Product partnership with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Own engineering outcomes end-to-end from discovery to deployment.
• Mentor engineers and drive career growth within the team.
• Maintain high standards for code quality, security and reliability.
• Partner with Product, Design and other stakeholders on scoping and sequencing.
• Foster a culture of fast, safe delivery and continuous improvement.
