Job summary

Sunrise is building the future of sleep health with a cloud-first, home-friendly diagnostic platform. We are a distributed team of 10 developers across France and Belgium, delivering secure, scalable backend services for our digital sleep clinic.

As a Back-end Developer, you will implement robust APIs, optimize performance, and ensure regulatory compliance while collaborating with product, design, and other engineers to improve patient care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• +5 years of professional experience as a Back-end Developer.
• +2 years hands-on experience in Python.
• Experience with Django, including Django REST framework.
• Experience with relational databases, such as PostgreSQL.
• Strong understanding of software architecture principles and design patterns.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced startup environment.
• Languages: French and English

Responsibilities

• Backend Development: Design, build, and maintain reliable backend services using Python, Django, and related technologies.
• API Development: Create and evolve RESTful APIs to power our front-end and mobile apps and support third-party integrations.
• Performance & Optimization: Identify bottlenecks and optimize for speed, scalability, and reliability.
• Architecture & Design: Contribute to the platform's technical architecture for scalability and robustness.
• Security & Compliance: Ensure health data security and regulatory alignment (HIPAA, GDPR).
