Job summary

Paulig is seeking a Reliability Engineer to join our Technical Engineering team in Roeselare, Belgium. You will enhance asset uptime, availability and maintainability through engineering expertise, data analysis and proactive maintenance strategies.

Key activities include RCA on equipment failures, condition monitoring, preventive/predictive maintenance, and developing reliability models such as FMEAs and RCIs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in electromechanics with strong theory and practical knowledge.
  • 5 years of experience in manufacturing processes, preferably in the food industry.
  • Fluent in Dutch and English.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement reliability strategies to improve uptime and reduce maintenance costs.
  • Conduct Root Cause Analysis on equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
  • Monitor asset health using condition monitoring techniques (vibration, oil, thermography).
  • Collaborate with maintenance and operations to plan preventive and predictive maintenance.
  • Create and maintain reliability models (FMEAs, RCAs) and analyze performance data.

We’re looking for a Reliability Engineer to join our technical department and help us shape the future of food and beverages. You will be based in Roeselare, Belgium and report to the Technical Engineering Manager.

Your role in the blend

As a Reliability Engineer, you improve the reliability, availability, and maintainability of our equipment and systems through engineering expertise, data analysis, and proactive maintenance strategies. You ensure that our plant assets operate safely and efficiently, helping to minimize downtime and maintenance costs while maximizing production output and asset lifecycle value.

In this role, you will:
  • Develop and implement reliability strategies to improve equipment uptime and reduce maintenance costs
  • Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on equipment failures and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence
  • Monitor asset health using condition monitoring techniques such as vibration analysis, oil analysis, and thermography
  • Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to plan and execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs
  • Create and maintain reliability models, such as FMEAs (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) and RCM (Reliability-Centered Maintenance)
  • Analyze performance data to identify trends, failure patterns, and areas for improvement
  • Support capital projects by providing reliability input into design, commissioning, and startup
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment performance and reduce downtime
  • Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations related to equipment operation and maintenance
  • Train maintenance and operations staff on reliability best practices and tools
  • Contribute to compliance of required audits (FSSC, ISO14001, BRC and similar) and the quality objectives, health and safety rules and instructions as well as environmental performance
  • Using the company's guiding principles as a model
Your key ingredients
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree electromechanics with extensive theoretical and practical knowledge
  • Preferably 5 years of working experience manufacturing processes and familiar with the food industry considered beneficial
  • Speaks fluently Dutch and English
  • Analytical, hands on, Continuous Improvement Mindset, Adaptability, communication, persistent and cooperative team player
  • You typically work during the day but are willing to be flexible
  • The right hand of the Technical Engineering Manager and willing to replace them for shorter periods of time.
