Alstom in Charleroi, Belgium, is seeking a Software Developer to design, implement, and test software components for rail mobility projects. You will work with software architects, hardware designers, and QA managers to deliver high‑quality software solutions and support integration activities across teams.

The role emphasizes design, coding, testing, and continuous improvement within an agile, international environment.

Qualifications

Engineer or Master’s degree in a relevant field.
Experience in software development is mandatory.
Understanding of railway software development or vital/secure software development is desirable.
Knowledge of software architecture and component design.
Familiarity with testing and verification processes.
Strong English communication skills; French desirable; German an asset.
Ability to work across engineering teams.
Team leadership skills; concurrent engineering experience is a plus.

Responsabilités

Collaborate with software architects to elaborate software specifications and architecture.
Perform detailed design and coding of software components.
Set up and maintain the software development toolchain.
Specify, design, and perform tests and verifications for deliverables.
Manage software work products under configuration control.
Support software/hardware integration activities.
Stay informed of technology trends through ongoing learning and research.
Contribute to standardization by reusing or implementing reusable solutions.
Adhere to and apply established processes and standards.
Drive continuous improvement through lessons learned and process enhancements.
