Keysight Technologies is seeking an experienced R&D Operating Manager to lead a cross-functional, agile product development team building the next-generation AI-driven test automation engine for our Eggplant Fusion Engine. You will inspire and mentor engineers, QA, product owners, and designers to execute the roadmap with exceptional software craftsmanship.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree with directly relevant experience in management/supervision
• Minimum five years of experience managing a software team
• Solid knowledge of Agile, Lean, SAFe and XP practices in real projects
• Experience integrating AI into the software development lifecycle
• Proven mentoring and coaching of direct reports and team growth
• Strong understanding of software engineering and architecture with hands-on context
• Experience in the test automation ecosystem and delivery
• Experience building enterprise-scale software for cross-functional teams

Keysight Eggplant helps businesses to test, monitor and analyze their end-to-end customer experience across different interfaces, platforms, browsers, and devices — including mobile, IoT, and desktop — in agile, DevOps, and innovative application and data environments.

Eggplant’s customers use Eggplant suites to assure the quality of their applications through UI test automation. Eggplant’s Fusion Engine team maintains Eggplant’s test automation engine, allowing our customers to test any system through the eyes of a human.

About the Job:

We are seeking an R&D Operating Manager with strong software development experience who is passionate about creating world-class software. We are building the next-generation, AI-driven test automation engine for our software quality engineering platform. The successful candidate will staff, motivate, and lead a cross-functional, agile product development team to deliver compelling test automation experiences for our next-generation Eggplant Fusion Engine. You will inspire your team to achieve more than they thought possible with a superb level of software craftsmanship.

Responsibilities:

• Lead your cross-functional team to deliver the Eggplant Fusion Engine product roadmap in a timely fashion, driving our customers’ adoption of our next generation platform.
• Act as the team’s scrum master and agile coach.
• Motivating the team’s curiosity, design and delivery of product enhancements and new innovative solutions.
• Through professional growth, mentoring, performance management, and/or hiring, build a team of high-performance developers, quality engineers, product owners and UX designers who embody your same passion for rapid incrementalism with sustained and repeated delivery.
• Work together with your leadership peers to surface dependencies and coordinate work to maximize the overall success of the Eggplant Core organization.
• With the agile mindset as your guide, instill a sense of true product ownership in your team.
• Work with your Product Owner to underpin a challenging, yet realistic, product roadmap for your team. Then, earn the trust of your stakeholders by consistently delivering.
• Build the brand of your team through complete transparency and effective communication, both vertically and horizontally throughout the organization.

About You

You are self-motivated and have a proven track record of leading teams developing complex software with a strong background in software engineering principles. You are a proactive and energetic person with a desire to contribute collaboratively to the development of the team and the company. You have excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. You're excited to work in an agile product team which owns the responsibility of its product from design through to implementation, testing, deployment and operation. You understand all the primary roles in a modern product development team and are comfortable owning responsibility for all of them.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelors or Master or University Degree or equivalent plus directly relevant experience as a manager, supervisor and/or individual contributor
• Five years of experience managing a team
• Solid knowledge of, and demonstrated ability to implement, Agile, Lean, SAFe and XP development practices. To you, agile is more than a set of certifications on your resume/CV.
• Experienced with integrating AI into the software development lifecycle.
• Proven experience mentoring and coaching your direct reports. You lead via positive reinforcement but also know when to cut yours, and the team’s, losses.
• A deep understanding of Software Engineering gained through relevant, first‑hand experience. You are equally comfortable in status meetings, code reviews, and design discussions.
• Excellent design and problem‑solving skills.
• Experience in software development and architecture.
• Strong knowledge of the test automation ecosystem.

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience working in product teams that build commercial of the shelf (COTS) software for the enterprise market.
• Experience using GitLab or GitHub for build pipelines.
• Experience with continuous delivery.
• Experience delivering software which leverages Objective C, C/C++, C#, OCR, Computer Vision and AI.
• Experience using Eggplant Test or other test automation software.
