Job summary

Movu Robotics is seeking an R&D Mechanical Engineer to design and test mechanical components and modules for state-of-the-art intralogistics robots.

You will lead R&D activities, create PoCs, and develop full production packages while collaborating with R&D, Service, and Testing teams in an international environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechatronics or a related field.
• At least 5 years of engineering experience, preferably in material handling, manufacturing, automation, machine or aerospace industries.
• Mechanical focus with interest in the full product picture including controls, electronics and software.
• Knowledge and experience in CAD; NX experience.
• Autonomous team player.
• English is a must (C1 or higher).
• Knowledge of Dutch is highly recommended.

Responsibilities

• Review current automated warehouse solutions based on performance, downtime, technical specifications, …
• Discuss with colleagues (R&D, Service, Testing, …) about improvement points of the Movu Robotics products.
• Take the lead on R&D activities concerning mechanical components and the full mechanical product.
• Develop a PoC and plan a timeline in accordance with Movu’s Product Development Process.
• Perform mechanical design of system modules (NX).
• Responsible for component selection and calculation.
• Interface with controls specialists to design a complete, mechatronic, solution.
• Make full production files (BOM’s, drawings, datasheets).
• Manage design states and revisions in the PLM package.
• Discuss test specifications and set-up with the Test & Validation team.
• Review prototype testing reports and adapt the PoC accordingly.
• Work with production engineer concerning assembly training for the blue collars.

• Your expertise is mainly mechanical, but you have a keen interest in the full product picture, including controls, electronics and software.
• You have knowledge and experience in CAD. You have experience with NX.
• You are an autonomous team player.
• English is a must (C1 or higher).
• Knowledge of Dutch is highly recommended.
