Job summary

Smarterminds is hiring a Quality Assurance Coordinator in Belgium to ensure quality across projects, bids, and departments. You will influence without direct management, bringing experts in at the right moments.

The role requires 5+ years in QA in regulated sectors, knowledge of ISO 9001/EN9100, and experience with QMS tools like SAP QM, plus reporting with Power BI or Tableau.

Fluent in French and English; EU nationality required; based in Belgium or willing to relocate.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5+ years of experience in Quality Assurance / Management in project-driven, regulated sectors (aerospace, defence, energy or similar).
• Experience in cross-functional or multi-site quality coordination.
• Solid knowledge of ISO 9001 / EN 9100 and Lean, Six Sigma or FMEA.
• Familiar with project and bid processes, QMS tools (e.g. SAP QM) and reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau).
• Able to influence without authority and communicate with technical, management and customer audiences.
• Fluent French and English.
• EU nationality required.
• Based in Belgium or willing to relocate to Belgium.

Responsibilities

• Align Quality, Projects, Bids, R&D, Production, Procurement and Logistics, and resolve conflicts on deadlines, standards and customer requirements.
• Review projects and bids for quality compliance and write the quality sections of tenders (RFQ/RFP).
• Allocate auditors and experts to where they are needed most.
• Step in on audits, non-conformity analyses, quality crises and customer escalations.
• Build and share quality KPIs and lead coordination meetings and workshops.

Smarterminds is hiring a Quality Assurance Coordinator for a global technology leader in the defence, security and aerospace sector, with more than 1,000 people across several sites in Belgium.

You will be the go-to person who keeps quality consistent across projects, commercial bids and departments. You won't manage a team directly; you will lead through influence, bringing the right experts in at the right moment.

What you will do
