McGregor Boyall is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer to support EPC projects across Data Centre, Industrial, Energy, and related sectors in Belgium. The role covers QA across mechanical, structural steel, piping, and welding disciplines with emphasis on documentation reviews and compliance with ISO and ASME standards.

The candidate will review GA and fabrication drawings, define NDT needs, and prepare ITPs, QCPs, and inspection checklists, coordinating FATs and quality records.

Qualifications

• 7 years' experience in Engineering QA within EPC/Industrial/Process/Energy sectors.
• Strong background in steel structures, piping, welding, fabrication quality, and mechanical engineering.
• Experience reviewing multidisciplinary engineering documentation and fabrication drawings.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001, EN 1090, ISO 3834, ASME IX, AWS.
• Proficient with SolidWorks, Autodesk Plant 3D, Navisworks, ACC, and MS Office.
• French and English fluency; site/workshop/fabrication exposure is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Ensure compliance with project requirements, international codes and quality procedures.
• Oversee QA across mechanical, structural steel, piping, pressure equipment, and welding.
• Review welding documentation (WPS, PQR, WPQ) and define NDT requirements.
• Prepare and maintain quality documentation (ITPs, QCPs, inspection plans).
• Coordinate inspections, FATs, material certification reviews, and quality records.
• Support design reviews, constructability assessments, RCA, CAPA.
• Identify and resolve quality issues before documentation release.

Quality Assurance Engineer

Location: Belgium | Freelance | 6-Month Contract (Renewable)

About the Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quality Assurance Engineer to support the delivery of complex EPC projects across the Data Centre, Industrial, Energy, Chemical, Pharmaceutical, and Oil & Gas sectors.

You’ll play a key role in ensuring engineering deliverables meet client specifications, international standards, and quality management procedures before progressing into procurement, fabrication, construction, and final project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and approve engineering documentation, including GA drawings, fabrication drawings, steel structures, piping isometrics, welding drawings, technical specifications, and calculations.
• Ensure compliance with project requirements, international codes, and quality management procedures.
• Oversee quality assurance across mechanical, structural steel, piping, pressure equipment, and welding disciplines.
• Review welding documentation (WPS, PQR, WPQ) and define NDT requirements.
• Prepare and maintain quality documentation, including Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), Quality Control Plans (QCPs), engineering quality plans, and inspection checklists.
• Coordinate inspections, Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs), material certification reviews, and manufacturing quality records.
• Support design reviews, constructability assessments, root cause analysis (RCA), and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
• Identify and resolve quality issues before engineering documentation is released.

Skills & Experience

• Minimum 7 years' experience in Engineering Quality Assurance within EPC, Industrial, Process, or Energy environments.
• Strong background in steel structures, piping, welding, fabrication quality, and mechanical engineering.
• Experience reviewing multidisciplinary engineering documentation and fabrication drawings.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001, EN 1090, ISO 3834, ASME Section IX, AWS, and quality assurance methodologies.
• Proficient with SolidWorks, Autodesk Plant 3D, Navisworks, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), and Microsoft Office.
• Previous site, workshop, or fabrication experience is highly desirable.
• Fluent in English and French.
