Smarterminds is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer – Mechanical in Belgium to oversee mechanical suppliers from selection to first production parts, ensuring ISO and EN 9100 compliance.

You will audit suppliers, support industrialisation, and drive corrective actions while reporting progress in weekly reviews. Fluent French and English are required; EU nationality preferred.

Qualifikationen

• Minimum 5+ years in supplier quality/industrial quality, preferably aerospace/defence.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, EN 9100, IPC-A-610 / IPC-620.
• Experience with product development cycles and industrialisation.
• Qualified internal and supplier auditor (ISO 9001).
• Fluent in French and English.

Smarterminds is hiring a Supplier Quality Engineer – Mechanical for a global leader in the defence and aerospace sector. Its Belgian site is in a production ramp-up, and its supply base needs a strong quality partner on the ground.

You will own the quality of mechanical suppliers from the moment they are selected until their first production parts are delivered, following the standards and processes of an international group.

What you will do

• Take part in supplier selection and qualify new mechanical suppliers
• Audit suppliers against ISO 9001 and the group's quality requirements
• Support suppliers through industrialisation, from development to first production parts
• Follow up issues and corrective actions with suppliers, and report progress in weekly reviews

About you

• Minimum of 5+ years of experience in supplier quality / industrial quality, ideally in aerospace, defence or a related industry
• Strong knowledge of quality standards: ISO 9001, EN 9100, IPC-A-610 / IPC-620
• Experience with product development cycles and industrialisation
• Qualified internal and supplier auditor (ISO 9001)
• Fluent French and English
• EU nationality required
• Based in Belgium or willing to relocate to Belgium
