Company Overview

Responsibilities
  • Implement and maintain QHSE policies, procedures, and work instructions in compliance with Belgian and Dutch regulations (e.g., Belgian Well‑being Act, Dutch Working Conditions Act).
  • Conduct risk assessments, workplace inspections, and systematic hazard evaluations for facilities, machinery, and TEL equipment; recommend corrective actions and training opportunities.
  • Investigate workplace accidents, quality incidents, and near misses to determine root causes, develop corrective and preventive actions, and ensure containment and reporting to authorities when required.
  • Lead Supplier Corrective Action Request (SCAR) investigations and document 8D reports.
  • Act as liaison with government regulatory bodies (e.g., Belgium’s FPS Employment, Labor and Social Dialogue; Netherlands’ Inspectorate SZW) and external prevention providers.
  • Develop, deliver, and monitor QHSE training programs for employees and management in areas such as compliance training, hazardous material handling, emergency response, hygiene, and safety.
  • Prepare status reports, analyze key safety performance indicators, and present findings and improvement recommendations to management.
  • Promote a culture of safety, excellence, and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
Skills and Knowledge
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in engineering or a recognized qualification such as IOSH, NEBOSH, CQA, or IMEA.
  • Proven experience (2+ years) as a Health and Safety Engineer or similar role in an engineering setting.
  • In‑depth knowledge of health and safety regulations in Belgium and the Netherlands.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to identify potential hazards and develop effective preventive measures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross‑functional collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and industry‑specific safety management systems.
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), or Certified Prevention Advisor are advantageous.
  • Fluency in English and Dutch; French is a plus.
