Job summary

Vivid Resourcing Ltd is seeking an experienced Project Planner for a major industrial construction project in the Port of Antwerp. The role focuses on developing, maintaining and controlling detailed schedules using Primavera P6, coordinating with engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning teams to ensure on-time delivery.

The ideal candidate has expert Primavera P6 skills, a background in large-scale energy or infrastructure projects, and can operate full-time on-site in Antwerp.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Project Planner on major industrial, construction, energy or infrastructure projects.
• Expert-level proficiency in Primavera P6.
• Strong understanding of project scheduling, progress monitoring and critical path analysis.
• Fluent English, both written and spoken.
• Ability to work full-time on site in Antwerp, Monday to Friday.
• Valid VCA certificate, or willingness to obtain one before starting the project.
• Legal right to work in Belgium, either through an EU passport or Belgian residency.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and regularly update detailed project schedules using Primavera P6.
• Monitor project progress and identify schedule deviations, delays and potential risks.
• Develop recovery plans and support project teams in addressing schedule issues.
• Produce regular progress reports, forecasts and schedule analysis.
• Provide planning and scheduling expertise to project management teams.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning teams to ensure project schedules accurately reflect delivery activities.
• Conduct critical path analysis and identify key project risks and opportunities.
• Participate in project planning and progress meetings.
• Provide schedule-related recommendations to support effective project decision-making.
• Ensure planning activities remain aligned with project milestones, programme requirements and client expectations.
• Maintain accurate planning data and provide clear visibility of project progress to relevant stakeholders.

Project Planner | Freelance | Antwerp | Port of Antwerp Construction

About the role

Our client is looking for an experienced Project Planner to join a major industrial construction project in the Port of Antwerp, supporting the delivery of a large-scale Ethane Cracker project.

Working as part of an international project team, you will take responsibility for developing, maintaining and controlling detailed project schedules throughout the project lifecycle. You will work closely with engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning teams to ensure progress is accurately captured and project milestones remain achievable.

This is a long-term freelance opportunity running through to June 2027, with the role requiring full-time on-site presence in Antwerp from Monday to Friday.

The successful candidate will have strong experience working on major industrial, energy, infrastructure or construction projects, alongside expert-level knowledge of Primavera P6.

Desirable:

Candidates currently based outside Belgium can be considered, provided they are able to engage through a Belgian umbrella company and meet the project’s local tax and compliance requirements.
