ALTEN in Belgium is seeking a Project Expert for Energy Conversion Solutions to lead high-impact development projects from concept to production. You will act as PTM, coordinating with purchasing, manufacturing, service, and marketing to shape designs, production flows, and aftermarket support.

You will guide teams across sites and countries, apply ISO, PED and ASME standards, manage scope and budget, and report to executives.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Fluent English with the ability to communicate at all organizational levels.
• Strong knowledge of international standards (ISO, PED, ASME) and risk management.

Job Title: Project Expert - Energy Conversion Solutions

Your Role

As a Project Expert in the Energy Conversion Solutions team, you will lead high-impact product development projects from concept and lab prototype to full-scale production. Acting as the Project Team Manager (PTM), you will collaborate with cross-functional departments to shape technical designs, production flows, supply chains, sales processes, and aftermarket support.

Your daily responsibilities include:

• Leading cross-functional teams and coaching project engineers both locally and internationally.


• Making technical design decisions in close alignment with purchasing, manufacturing, service, and marketing teams.


• Partnering with test engineers to execute test programs and evaluate results.


• Managing project scope, budget, status, and timing, ensuring transparent reporting to executive management.


• Applying international standards (ISO, PED, ASME) and risk management strategies throughout the design lifecycle.


• Securing and sharing technical knowledge across the organization.

What You Bring

• Education: Master's degree in Engineering (or equivalent experience), backed by strong general technical knowledge and a passion for product development.

Experience:

• Previous experience in a product development environment is a strong advantage.


• Knowledge of Dutch is a plus.

Skills:

• Fluent English with the ability to communicate effectively across all organizational levels.


• Strong understanding and application of international standards and regulations (e.g., ISO, PED, ASME) and design-based risk management.


• Ability to embrace rapid iteration, build cross-departmental networks, and manage expectations and priorities effectively.
