Virya Energy's Grid Solutions team is seeking a Wind Project Developer to drive onshore wind projects from concept to realization in Belgium. You will identify opportunities, build stakeholder relationships and guide projects through development phases, integrating best practices with local presence.

You will coordinate multi-disciplinary teams, manage permits and budgets, ensure QHSE compliance, and present investment proposals to leadership.

Qualificações

• Master's degree in Industrial or Civil Engineering.
• Experience or strong interest in renewable energy and wind energy.
• Knowledge of energy markets, energy storage and/or flexibility solutions is a plus.
• Excellent project management and organizational skills.
• Proven ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders.
• Professional proficiency in Dutch, French and English.
• To be eligible for this role, you must reside in Belgium and hold a valid work permit.

Responsabilidades

• Initiate and coordinate all project phases from concept to completion.
• Monitor planning, milestones, progress and budgets to keep projects on track.
• Plan and coordinate project resources according to priorities and timelines.

• Act as technical representative toward grid operators, suppliers and authorities.
• Coordinate activities with internal teams across engineering, land, business development, O&M, procurement, legal, finance and energy markets.
• Prepare and manage permitting applications and approvals.
• Prepare investment proposals and present recommendations to management.
• Support contract negotiations with turbine suppliers, contractors and partners.
• Build local support for wind projects through stakeholder engagement and transparent communication.
• Develop deep sector knowledge to become a renewable energy project development expert.

As a Wind Project Developer, you will be at the forefront of the energy transition. Your mission is to identify new opportunities, build strong stakeholder relationships and drive onshore wind projects from concept to realization. By transforming ambitious ideas into operational renewable energy projects, you will help shape a more sustainable future and support Virya Energy's continued growth in wind energy.

Responsabilities

• Initiate and coordinate all project phases, from concept and development through to project completion.


• Monitor project planning, milestones, progress and budgets, ensuring projects remain on track.


• Plan and coordinate project resources in line with priorities and timelines.


• Ensure compliance with QHSE requirements throughout all project phases.


• Act as the company's technical representative towards grid operators, suppliers, local authorities, policymakers and other stakeholders.


• Coordinate project activities and facilitate collaboration with internal teams, including engineering, land acquisition, business development, O&M, procurement, legal, finance and energy markets.


• Prepare and manage permitting applications and approval processes.


• Prepare investment proposals and present recommendations to the Management Committee.


• Support and participate in contract negotiations with turbine suppliers, contractors and other key partners.


• Contribute to building local support for wind projects through stakeholder engagement, technical input and transparent communication.


• Continuously expand sector knowledge and expertise, developing into a recognized specialist in renewable energy project development.

Job Requirements

• A Master's degree in Industrial or Civil Engineering.


• Experience or a strong interest in renewable energy, with knowledge of energy technologies and environmental regulations related to wind energy.


• Knowledge of energy markets, energy storage and/or flexibility solutions is a plus.


• Excellent project management and organizational skills.


• Proven ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and drive projects forward.


• Professional proficiency in Dutch, French and English.


• A proactive, hands-on and independent attitude, while thriving in a collaborative team environment.


• To be eligible for this role, you must currently reside in Belgium and hold a valid work permit
