Eneco Wind Belgium SA (EWB) is seeking a Junior Investment Analyst to join the Finance team. You will support financial and strategic planning for wind energy projects, ensure data integrity across the project lifecycle, and develop robust financial assumptions with the development teams and Finance colleagues.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in finance, economics, business administration, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in financial analysis, investment analysis, or related role.
  • Energy sector or capital-intensive industry experience is a plus.
  • Strong IT skills, especially Excel; VBA/R/Python a plus.
  • Proficient in Dutch, French and English.
  • Wavre office base with one day/week in Mechelen.

Responsabilités

  • Maintain and update the master business plan aligned with best practices in renewables.
  • Provide structured updates on financial metrics with the Finance team.
  • Assist annual budgeting for projects in the development pipeline.
  • Support Development and Construction teams with detailed business plans.
  • Prepare investment cases and documentation for approvals.
  • Conduct post-investment analyses and compare outcomes to assumptions.
  • Perform financial analyses on wind energy assets and related topics.
  • Collaborate with regional stakeholders in Flanders and Wallonia.
  • Monitor financing mechanisms and regulatory developments to enhance funding viability.
  • Support pricing strategies and CPPAs for renewable assets.

What will you do

As part of the Finance team, the Junior Investment Analyst will play a crucial role in supporting the financial and strategic planning of renewable energy projects, with a particular focus on wind energy. In this role, you will help ensure the integrity of financial information throughout the project lifecycle and contribute to the development of robust financial assumptions based on reliable data. You will report to the Senior Investment Analyst and work closely with the development teams and other members of the Finance team.

You will be responsible for
  • Maintain and update the master business plan, ensuring alignment with best practices, quality standards, and developments in the renewable energy sector.

  • Provide structured updates on key financial metrics and underlying assumptions in close collaboration with the Finance team.

  • Contribute to the annual budgeting process for projects within the development pipeline.

  • Support the Development and Construction teams in preparing detailed business plans and monitoring project performance throughout the development and construction phases.

  • Assist in preparing investment cases and supporting documentation for decision-making and investment approval processes.

  • Perform post-investment analyses to assess investment outcomes and compare actual performance against initial assumptions.

  • Conduct financial analyses on a broad range of topics related to the development and operation of wind energy assets.

  • Collaborate closely with regional stakeholders and business partners in Flanders and Wallonia to support the growth of renewable energy projects.

  • Monitor new financing mechanisms, regulatory developments, and subsidy schemes to help secure project funding and maximize project viability.

  • Support the development of pricing strategies and revenue models for renewable energy assets, including Corporate Power Purchase Agreements (CPPAs).

What we expect from you
  • Master’s degree in finance, economics, business administration, or a related field.

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in financial analysis, investment analysis, or a related role.

  • Experience in the energy sector or a capital-intensive industry is a plus.

  • Strong IT skills, particularly in the Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel. Basic knowledge of programming languages such as VBA, R, or Python is a plus.

  • Proficiency in Dutch, French and English.

  • You will mainly be based in our Wavre office, with one working day per week in our Mechelen office.
